We are an RIBA Chartered Practice based in Derby.

Simon Gratton is a RIBA Chartered Architect and a Conservation Architect – he is the Director of Blair Gratton Architects Limited and qualified as an Architect in 1998 from the University of North London. Simon is a member of the RIBA – Royal Institute of British Architects and is listed at the ARB – Architects Registration Board.

John Gratton is a registered Architect with the ARB and an Architect member of the RIBA. In December 2023, John had been a member of the Royal Institute for 50 years, a rare achievement and consequently has a huge amount of experience working in the Profession.

Ray Harlow is a time served Senior Technician. Ray joined William Blair & Partners in 1970 and has worked with the practice all his life. As our longest-running member of the team, Ray has a wealth of experience in all sectors of technical design specification.

Architects abide by the Codes of Professional Conduct set by both the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

We have established relationships with other agencies, professionals and consultants. We are well known to local authorities, conservation and planning officers and we can draw upon this knowledge to help assist in the successful realisation of your project.

We offer the full package to make your concept a reality; as Architects we provide a professional, regulated design consultancy service. We work with our clients as a planning consultancy, to take their projects through the planning process; technical design and Building Regulations, through to tender and administering Building Contracts for work ‘on-site’ managing payment and programmes.
